The DESS Community Garden was donated to the school in Autumn 2017 and provides a magnificent learning facility for our children.
The project to deliver the garden was led by volunteer Friends of DESS parents, Qatar Green Building Council and Gulf Contracting Company.
The garden is full of vegetables, desert plants and herbs and is built virtually entirely of recycled materials. Solar panels and a wind turbine use sustainable energy to power some of the features of the garden whilst a weather station collects data which is then used by our school community in their learning as well as within the wider community to monitor local climate changes.
The table below shows the daily data collated by our Community Garden weather station.
